Inflation

When I was in high school we often stopped at the soda fountain at Woolworth's. This menu may explain why I am constantly amazed at today's prices.

Yup, I was a chocolate malted milk girl every day after school....my mom happily gave me the change from the bottom of her purse each morning...I was allowed to stay in Woolworth's for an hour after school and my favorite place there was in the school supplies section....stamp pads, PAID stamps, ledger books fascinated me.

My Mom actually worked the soda fountain at Woolworth's back in the early 60's!..We'd get to sit at the counter, play the counter style 'jukebox' (I know you know what I'm talkin' about),and drink Shirley Temples..Wonderful times! :)

Amazing! I remember when MacDonalds basic burger was 10cents, back when I was a kid.

My first job, after mowing lawns of course, was at Woolworths in some mall over there. Lake Forest Mall maybe. I've lost track. But I was a cashier in the store, not at the fountain.
